Those are called "rollers"
They are supposed to roll, I have only seen a few that actually do.
But at their age who can blame them.

Some might have been made to roll but most I've seen are just sliders. There were several companies that made regulators and there are different design regulators for different body designs. A lot of them were pretty similar but not all the same. They need good lube in the tracks when they are designed to slide but they will work. It should become apparent when cleaning them as to whether they will roll or not.

When I restored my 29 AA, I sandblasted the regulators and studied them, and decided they were not intended to roll, by not rolling they may do a better job of not letting the window drop down.

One of my window regulators is stiff. How does the interior door panel come off so you can get into the door to grease it?

Metal spring clips hold the door panel to holes drilled into the door structure in the case of metal constructed cars.

There is so much wood in the car, I suspected that the door panels could be held on with tiny nails. I ran across a piece of carpet on my Victoria that was unexpectedly nailed in with tiny nails.
(Maybe they are called brads?)

Roll the window down, with a metal rod or small tubing drip some oil down on the parts needing lubed! Oil will flow down the rod

Big hammer,

Thanks for the tip! I just checked the gap at the bottom of the window. It never dawned on me that it would be wide enough to lubricate the regulator.
