transport w/o floor pan?
OK, my 57 wagon goes to the shop next week for exh. replacement. I am in the middle of floor pan replacement. Should I not cut out the driver front pan or am I ok to do that? It will be flatbedded there and back. I am just worried about body shift/twisting etc.

Re: transport w/o floor pan?
If it were me, I would not remove ANY floor panels prior to muffler/exhaust work. Force the shop to be confined within the space under the floor, especially if you are having Thrush mufflers put in. They are much bigger around and could protrude into the floor space if the floor panels are not there to warn them. See what I mean?

Re: transport w/o floor pan?
Here is what the body guy did prior to cutting out the rusted floor on my '54 Ranch Wagon. Even so the body shifted a bit.

Ok, hold off then just in case. Fortunately, mine are going to be as extensive as yours 51504bat.

And the rusty floors are just the beginning. So much for rust free CA cars.
