37 oil pan removal
Anyone have any tips or tricks to removing the oil pan from a 37 flathead? I need to replace the front crank seal and I think I have opened a can of worms lol.
While the pan is of anything I should replace while everything is apart? thanks! |

Re: 37 oil pan removal
If you your replacing the rope seal on the front there's no need to drop the oil pan. Remove the timing cover and push the old rope seal out of the pan and install the new. Then put the new in the timing cover and replace.

Re: 37 oil pan removal
I was thinking of trying that however I was worried about the rope not seating properly. Any idea how to get it installed properly and secure?

Re: 37 oil pan removal
Of course you need to remove the pulley to gain access.
