Hi! Nikas here, born and raised in Sweden, Europe. First post for me in this forum. Bought a Ford 1939 V8 in good condition, it was my faders and he bought it around 1960s.. There is some sort of heater installed, it seems to be of a brand called ”Artex”. Does anybody know anything about this? When I searched the forum I see a bunch of threads of heaters, but not this brand! (See pictures)

Your Artex heater was one of many after-market units offered back in those days. Available at many stores like Coast to Coast, Montgomery Wards, Sears, etc. NOT a factory installed nor Ford authorized unit.

Aha okay I see! Any chance you know where I can find any information about this heater? Would like to get it running, but even dont know if its a water heater or just electric��

It appears to be the hot water type. It has signs of hoses that connect it to the engine cooling system. There may or may not be a flow valve in the hot water circuit. It also appears that the core has been repaired for leaks before since there is a lot of solder in one area. I would leak check it but don't apply too much pressure. Many older heater cores can't take much pressure.

Make sure the motor electrical circuit has a fuse at the power source. It has a lot of wires there so it may be variable speed. If it has a switch, it will have to be tested to make sure it is functional. A volt/ohm meter will be the best way to test it. It may also have speed control resistors somewhere but I don't see any. Some are controlled by the way the motor is connected. Judging by the number of electrical wires present on the motor, that is a good possibility. It's likely a unit from a later time period such as the post WWII or 1950s time frame.

maybe the best way is to install a ford factory heater. It seems like its been soldered alot, and not in the best condition! Thank you all for the info! Will surely be back for more questions

Most heaters that been around this long has had work done to them.
And the cores usually needs attention to get the full effiency out of them...if not repaired they are blocked partially.

Should not be that difficult to replace the core or have the existing one repaired properly. As flatheadmurre pointed out, almost all heaters you get will be in similar condition to the one you have unless it has been rebuilt.
