Default 1936 pickup interior material

Is there a source for the "chicken tracks" pattern vinyl material for panels for a 36 pickup? I have purchased the Quiet Ride Soultions plastic interior but it looks too shiny and I would like to cover it with a more correct looking vinyl material. Art

Art, I'm not certain what Quiet Ride supplies. Does it have the correct appearance other than the sheen?
If so, how about (after test fitting) you spray it with flattening clear?

It does have the correct pattern. What flattening paint would work? In previous posts the products mentioned were temporary sprays from hobby shops. Art

Rustoleum makes a Matte Clear spray paint which bonds to plastic. You can get a can and try a small area and see if it knocks down the sheen. I got a can at Home Depot for around $7.

I'm considering ordering an interior kit from Quiet Ride and am interested to hear the results of this spray coating if you do the test.

I will try that Rustoleum on the backside of a panel. Thanks

I'll be interested in hearing how these panels look and fit. It seems to be the only option for these pickups. As far as dulling down the shine... I would be concerned about using an off the shelf can of clear from your local hardware store on these panels. I have no experience with them, but I would imagine you will need to flex and twist these panels to get them in place. With all the little details on the surface of the panels, there is a lot of room for error in not prepping all the little nooks and crannies. I'd also worry about the longevity of this clear. Since you have to prep the surface by scuffing it, I would be curious if steel wool or a fine scotchbrite might knock down the shine, followed by some type of non-shine protectant like a wax or other compound. If this does not work, Cerakote might be a more durable and long-lasting product which has great adhesion when prepped properly, plus how thinly it can be applied is another benefit. As I mentioned, I have no experience with this, and these are just some things to consider. I would hate to have to remove all these panels if something went awry. Good luck and keep us posted.

All good points by OldGold360. It's certainly a bit of an experiment to see what works.

Does someone here have a picture of the Quiet Ride interior installed in a truck? Art
