38 1/2 ton Pickup interior question

I have a lot of these "nails" around the interior of the door frame. What are they for? When I got the truck it had the fiberglass panels screwed in place. I would like to get rid of them all and fill the holes.

Seth has got it right I believe. Original holes to hold the "windlace" in place. No rubber pieces except at bottom of door to keep out the elements. So Ford had "windlace", a vinyl clothe?, around tubing with some extra to attach to the door frame via the nails holes you've pictured.

Yes, the nails are for attaching the windlace which helps seal the opening between the door and door frame. It's made of a strip of vinyl (or other interior fabric) about 3" wide. It's folded in half and a 3/8" o.d. rubber tube is inserted into the fold. The windlace starts at the bottom corner of the door opening and goes all the way around to the other corner (but not across the bottom of the opening) with the fold with the tube sticking into the door opening and the two flaps nailed to the sheet metal all the way around. The only part you will see once all of the interior is installed will be the round part in the door opening. The cardboard panels and other trim covers up all the nail holes and material. I believe Cartouche sells the correct windlace for your pickup and it should take about two 9-foot long strips and lots of those nails to hold it in place.

No need to fill the holes as the interior trim panels will cover all the way to the edge of the windlace.

Here's an image of the currently available windlace material from Cartouche. The original has a rubber hose but the reproduction uses a foam cylinder.

I got nails from Cartouche with the windlace. Check out MACs as they seem to own Cartouche. This might be the nails, but I would call and talk to someone before blindly ordering: SKU 47-51393-1ALT #: 64-51393 (.085 Dia X 7/8 Long Nails)
