Default How to install open car windshield snaps

I am soon planning to install the 6 snaps that go in the top channel of my 29 phaeton's windshield. I thought the same tool that installed the side curtain snaps in the doors and quarterpanels would work for this snap. However, I found the tool is too large to fit in the windshield snaps center opening. Do you just push the snap into the hole in the windshield and it expands to stay in the hole? It seems like there needs to be a tool to expand the back part to lock it in place once it is put into the hole. If someone has installed the top snaps in the windshield, please post how you did it.

Thanks, Steve. I never thought of that, but after you mentioned it, it became obvious.
