Default Model A C-Cab project

Well my dream of making a C-Cab delivery is finally in the works. I have had a lot of fun steam bending the wood pieces. I have no plans or prints to go by so I am scaling from some good pictures. My question is does anyone know where I can find the back door hardware like in the attached pictures? I want to have door handle mechanisms on both doors. Thanks in advance for any advice.

your best chance would be ebay.......and it'll take time and patience.

I have found some incredibly rare stuff there over the yrs.

another option is to machine your own, using common door handles from an A and working from there.

If you have any junkyards around you can find that exact hardware on the inside of the doors on old step vans. Those parts would be on the left inside of the double doors. The right opens from the outside, then you reach in and open the left. The problem with that is when scrap skyrocketed about 10-12 years ago the yards cleaned up.When the yards would run one of those vans over the scales and bring hom $13-$1500.they didn't want to keep many to sell $10.parts.You might want to look at a place called,Mill Supply,I think it's in New Jersey. That is where I have always bought step van parts.headlight doors, heater and fan parts, but most of all window and door hardware.

The one on Ebay isn't the style I am looking for. I am looking for the mechanism with the upper and lower rods that insert into the upper and lower framing. The junkyard option might be kind of fun to dig too. The search goes on. Here are a couple pictures of what I am working on. I restore old Victrolas and this will have the Victor logos on the side. I have an old Victrola still in the shipping crate and a Nipper radiator ornament (my avatar)for it also.

Maybe check Austin Hardware; we used to get latches and stuff there when we custom built cabs and utility box covers. Used to be something like a rotary handle with link rods going to spring loaded latches on the top and bottom.

Might check Bert's in Denver as they have a huge inventory of Model A stuff. You never know.

I've used that setup in a horizontal application,so I just made solid rods instead of using the cables.

The link goes to the one with rods and not the cables. This should work great for what I am doing.
