model A oil pan
I need a oil pan for my Model A motor. The serial number on the block indacates that it is a 1928. Would any oil pan work? Where could I fnid a pan Iam in the Chicago land area.

Any pan would fit, but to be correct your pan should have the round removable plate on the bottom, just under the oil pump. This was used until late 1928. Check with the engine rebuilder/parts seller, in Skokie, IL.

Hi
just a little sugestion. Before you install your oil pan, clean the area around the drain plug hole real clean, then have the machined ring that the drain plugs screws in welded to the pan. Down the line someone might tighten the drain plug real tight so much one might tear the machined ring loose from the pan. That will result in removing the pan, getting it welded, and increase your profanity vocabulary. It is best to have it weled, not just brazed. Big al |
