hub cap tool
Just out of curiosity, how does a 'hub cap tool' such as sold by Mike's work exactly? Installation is basically bending the tabs over securely, correct? I must be missing something(?).

Re: hub cap tool
The tool gives the tabs a slight V shape so the cap can be pushed on and snapped off.

Thanks Tom. If I could ask for a personal opinion, worth the fifty bucks? Bruce

If you have any friends with '30-31 Model A's you could all "chip in". I have not had a problem with a hub cap since I bought the "Tool" last July and have "Fixed" several for friends. Last edited by Y-Blockhead; 07-01-2015 at 06:02 PM. Reason: Gammer |

Re: hub cap tool
Before I was aware the "tool" was available, I made it work using a 3/8 coupling nut. You screw a short bolt into each end so the contraption matches the diameter of the cap. Then place it between two opposing tabs. When you tighten one of the bolts it spreads the tabs to where you want them. Slow and clumsy, but it works.
