33-34 pickup seat question
My 34 truck cab has a nice back spring but has the individual biscuit cushions on the bottom that are separate. Is there a one piece bottom cushion that will fit well on the gas tank ?
thanks for any info. Larry

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
I think you could use the small truck springs. The split cushions are large truck type. Macs in NY carry the full ones ..

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
The split seat bottom is allow for filling the gas rank that was the seat base on at least some 32 pick ups.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
My 34 pickup has the gas tank at the rear of the bed, not under the seat.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
As far as I know the pickups had the gas tanks under the bed while the big trucks had the gas tank under the seat. So the pickups would've had a one piece seat while the big trucks would've had the split seat.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
It is a big truck cab and has the gas tank located under the seat. I have moved the tank to the rear frame (I am using a car frame). I have cut the top out of the gas tank to use as a seat riser inside the cab like the regular 1/2 ton. I am asking if the one piece seat springs are available or if a 34-35 bottom cushion will work. I do not have access to one to measure it. I would purchase a 1/2 ton seat riser and bottom cushion if available ?
thanks for all the replies, I appreciate the help. Also although I havn't figured out how to change my signature, I have found a nice set of mercury hubcaps thanks to the generosity of one of the Ford Barn members.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
The 33-34 solid bottom spring should work fine. Yours sits on the actual gas tank, or is there a seat riser around the tank as well? Heres a picture of my pickup...

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
One piece bottom seat cushion for a '34 pickup should work. Check with LeBaron Bonney, Macs, or other suppliers and I'm sure you'll find the seat spring or complete bottom upholstered cushion.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
My 1934 Ford P/U has the fuel tank between the frame members at the rear also. The P/U fuel tank is the original one that came with the P/U when is was bought brand new at the Michigan, North Dakota dealership. I bought the P/U from Vern Hanesalo who is the original owner according to the paperwork that came with the P/U. The fuel tank is between the frame rails at the rear of the vehicle.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
Get a new one piece and it will fit the gas tank - and more comfortable.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
I see some of the hot rodders cut the tank out for a storage bin. Have not done that as I hate to ruin a good tank, but my seat is hinged at the front.

Re: 33-34 pickup seat question
Looks like a battery disconnect switch to me, good place to put it. Nice job on your restoration.
