Default Finally Fume Free

After owning my tudor for 5 years have finally resolved my gas fume issues. Started out with dripping carb - fixed, steering wheel bracket - fixed, gas gauge - fixed. Still had fumes after these fixes & couldn't find the source after many attempts. Finally got the idea of pressurizing my tank, Got a radiator cap, drilled a small hole in it, soldered a brass tube through the cap. Hooked up to my air compressor & put 5lbs pressure in the tank, immediately heard hissing and found a small hole in the top of the tank. Now repaired and finally fume free motoring.

Now that's ingenuity – I’ll have to remember that trick.

Glad you found it!

Two gaskets on the gas cap and pipe fittings from gas outlet works also! Cheaper :-)

The only time I get gas fumes in the cab is when my Son in-law rides with me, I think he has a four chambered stomach, the young man is worse than cattle.

Only 5 lbs! You could have increased your cruising range with a little more.
Well done, McGyver.
