Default What is this JT Slocomb tool?

Does anyone know the use for this JT Slocomb (micrometer?) tool? It was in a box of KR Wilson Model A tools.

I know of a JT Slocomb tool and manufacturing company formerly located in Glastonbury, CT. They are no longer in business but did make parts and tooling for aerospace companies such as UTC's Pratt&Whitney Division. The tool shown appears to be a custom gauge for measuring the OD of a component.
