Default 1941 Ford mirror

Hi All,
Back with more questions.
Did the 41's have a driver's side factory mirror? Someone added 2 of those swan neck mirror's to it. The passenger side is completely useless can't see a thing and I would like to get rid of both them.
The car is a convertible and was wondering how or where I would Mont it on the driver's side door.
Also a source for the trim to replace the swan neck mirrors.

Many Thanks

For the passenger side mirror, get one of those convex stick-on mirrors. They come in a couple diameters and one fit my '41 perfectly. That will give you the "Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear" blind spot coverage you need. Set it right and you can see the curb on that side when you are parking.

If you can't find the cowl pieces anywhere you can use any '41 trim. cut to lenght with extra to fold in and no one will know the difference. I replaced one of my cowl pieces that way also piece the runs from f. fender to grill under the head lights.

I made the change you described. The factory mirrors were useless - particularly on the passenger side. I found someone on eBay to make the trim sections - unfortunately it was a few years back and I don't have a record of them.

I got some small cowl mirrors (eBay again) and mounted them on the vent window. I had to fab up a small bracket to fit the thicker door trim and a 1" sq tube section came in handy for this. They just seem to clip in place

I also placed convex mirrors over the side mirrors to help with the field of view. They really help when the top is up and the small back window is zipped in place. I have a lot more confidence in knowing where everything is, although persecutive is a bit off.
