Did that with 35 Chevy and it worked OK. Just wondering if there was a more rubber-specific paint available.....

Re: New Tires
I'm hijacking this thread since I'll be needing to get some new tires as well. I should be driving about 1,000+ per year.
Here is a comparison I found that helps explain the differences. https://www.intercotire.com/comparin...es_trent_mcgee

Re: New Tires
Garwood good article.
Those are some big meats!! Pretty aggressive tread. Wonder how they'd look on a Model A Ford |

Re: New Tires
OMG, your right, I didn't even notice the picture at the top but you're right. That would look sick.
After reading the article, I would switch my truck to radials. Think I need to stay with the white walls though. It just kind of looks right for that "showy" look and I do love doing the parades.

Re: New Tires
Black acrylic artists paint works really well to turn whitewalls black.

Re: New Tires
Amazon sells black paint made specifically for tires. Search for "black paint for tires" on Amazon.

Re: New Tires
Car had Goodyear Gum Dipped whitewalls when I bought it and decided to run them a little longer. Tube failure caused the flat. Put the tire on the rear spare bracket of my coupe and the new tube install process was easy.
Bought a Lucas blackwall for a spare as I noticed my spare was in bad shape. will go with radial blackwalls when these Goodyears are more of a concern. |

Re: New Tires
Hi, I went with the Coker Radials about 2 years ago and I am very satisfied, much improved handeling and stability on the road. Ordered them from Summit Racing, they are Excelsior 5.50 x 19. They were about $270. as I recollect.
