Ford V8 vendors
Vintage Ford reproduction suppliers. I prefer ’40 Ford parts from Dennis Carpenter, and use Joe’s for other general EV8 parts. What I found is that Joe’s has ’40 specific parts from Dennis Carpenter, or Drake, and he will ship it to you anyway you specify. For example, USPS first class mail if it’s under a certain weight. I usually get parts from Joe's the next day because I am also in Mass. Whereas, if I order the same part from Dennis Carpenter, you have no shipping option as they make the decision as to how it will be shipped from NC, and under what flat rate. So the bottom line is, I can get Dennis Carpenter parts shipped the way I want, for less, and quicker. They know who I am when I call at Joe's, and bend over backwards to help you. Hard to beat Joe’s fast and friendly service for reproduction parts. NOS parts are another story.

Re: Ford V8 vendors
Whilst I am a vendor myself I can admit Joe's is great. We talk nearly daily.
Being a small vendor has taught me that if I was a normal hobbyist, I would only deal with the following: Joe's Antique Auto Van Pelt Sales Gotham Auto Parts Wescott's All of the above mentioned have the greatest concern to customer satisfaction, and quality. With any small vendor you are likely to get someone on the phone that is a hobbyist as well and personally knows the fit and functionality of parts involved. |

Joe's has been my go to guy for years. Can't say enough good things about him or his staff. Period.

Re: Ford V8 vendors
I live 5 hours away from my favorite V8 parts vendor. Service is great and they even let me spend the night at their home when I make a trip to their shop. That's real service!

Re: Ford V8 vendors
I recently added Third Gen Automotive to the small list of vendors I buy from. I've had good experiences.

Living overseas is a different ball game altogether.
Kyle Allen from C&G has always been great to deal with. |

Re: Ford V8 vendors
Anyone know if any Canadian suppliers? The duty and exchange rate is a real pain.

Re: Ford V8 vendors
Third Generation and Joe's are my go-to vendors. I have had good service from both.

Re: Ford V8 vendors
I started this tread a while back. It didn't track very well here after a few months, maybe that was my fault as I don't really have the time to keep it up to date. My thinking was supporting the vendors that help us. Anyone can take it over, start a new thread. I guess we prefer to just take things on one at a time, less likely to direct to a thread.

Re: Ford V8 vendors
For flathead engine parts -- not knowing what you need -- I would start with Fred at Southside Obsolete in Faribault MN

I bought all the parts for the rebuild of my 8ba except for the valves from Red's Headers and I should have bought the valve stuff from him as well. Good guy to deal with. Quality parts and fair prices. IMO. https://www.reds-headers.net/

All 3 belong to NAFTA and as a result if I'm taxed its only PST and GST. I'm using ePay less and less and avoid sellers using Global Shipping Program like the plague with its bogus BS import charges!!! Rear Counter.com is my search engine of choice for NOS and I can request prices and then submit a want list to whoever replies! Having a 1950 Mercury Sport Sedan and a 56 Continental Mark II means 98% of my parts comes from United States! Oh and a major surprise is only 3050 Mark II were produced with an estimated 1200-1500 remaining in various states of condition and yet my 50 Mercury is many times harder to locate parts for. Stoker280, Canadian Border Agency informed me that as per NAFTA, anything purchased made in Canada, United States and Mexico, and if I'm charged duty when picking it up, I can get a refund if I show my receipt and show where its made which is easy for NOS! |
