What's with the gloves? Real men don't wear gloves to crank start an engine, They just get in the way. |

I guess I cant start my car. I don't own a pair of gloves.
Also, nothing said about using a choke to crank a cold engine? |

Not recommended to grasp the crank in that manner. Proper, safe, way is to use 1 hand with all fingers and thumb on the same side of the handle. Why? Because if the engine kicks back, a thumb and/or arm can be broken!

Well, I too wear gloves driving my A. They are white white and the person behind me can see them well when I am signalling for a turn. Especially true when driving is decreased light.

Sorry, but white gloves or not. 99.9% of the people when you stick your arm out think they are being waved at, and most will wave back.
Sad but true. Follow someone someday and observe what happens when they stick their arm out to give directions. |

My son took his driving test a few years ago and that is one of the things the inspector asks before you start the driving portion of the test (in California anyway). Whether they actually use them or not is a different question... |
