Ford marked rear axles ?
For the last 2 weeks Ive been cleaning and taking inventory of spareparts . Its been banjo rears with torque tubes and bars . Found some 2 1941 diffs , one is 3.54 the other 3.78 , a 37 wide 5 in 378 and a 40 ? in 378 . Curiously the 1937 has rear axles marked with script Ford about 1” from the carrier bearing in 3 spots around the axles . Non of the others have any markings Ive seen . Are they factory replacements or did for just stop marking them ?
After all this work Im just curious. Any info is appreciated. Plus Ill soon have a list of free parts for pickup only . Thanks , Gary |

Re: Ford marked rear axles ?
Gary, My experience is all were stamped by Ford. That (of course) doesn't mean all were actually stamped, just the ones I've held... MANY.
I'd like to hear from Dave R. on this as I'm willing to bet he'll have better insight.

Re: Ford marked rear axles ?
I only use ford marked axles in the 33, as once I used a NORS one and when I went to use the puller remove the hub it just mushroomed the end of the axle over.
