Default What mounting/size difference between 1933/34 cabriolet and closed car dash?

I need a 1934 cabriolet dash but don't know if it is the same as the closed car or not. So don't know what to look for. I couldn't find any posts that address fitment. Anyone know or have closeup pics and measurements? An original style either reproduction or original would work.
Thanks!

The cabriolet dash doesn't have the hole and mount for the windshield regulator, but is dimensionally the same as coupe and sedan dashes. It mounts a little differently with screw holes on the underside of the top shape.

Here's a photo I just found. I notice that the body in your picture doesn't have the windshield as part of it, so it doesn't look like the dash would be an easy fit.

I have an aftermarket windshield frame. Zimmco said a closed car dash will fit except for a windshield crank hole and different location of some mounting holes. I still haven't been able to find a source for a cabriolet dash.

That sure looks like you need a Roadster dash rather than a closed car dash. The top of the cowl is completely different on the Cabriolet, as well as the top of the doors and quarter panels. Do a Google search for '34 Ford Cabriolet and see the differences. BTW, you can find a number of suppliers for a fiberglass roadster dash on-line.

Fordors,
Thanks but the roadster dash doesn't look like it will fit. Please see attached pics. I should have included them when I first asked about this. It may take a couple of try to get them in. You will see inside of cowl already has a chin or lip at top. Second shot is with a fiberglass cabriolet windshield frame which I'm replacing with a original style metal one that is an inch taller and has thinner posts and channels. Third picture is dash it came with which has a lip at top that does not fit over cowl lip and is flat instead of having recessed areas around instruments and glove box. Any further comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

Wow........that is not a pretty situation, and that windshield is scary. Here are a couple of pretty good pics of a real cabriolet. DD

No idea what you have there but it is not a cabriolet or a roadster . Stock dashes are not going to work for you without MUCH WORK . Is the body fiberglass ?

Thanks for the pictures. You confirmed what I was thinking. And yeah the windshield frame is worthless. After looking at you pics I'm not sure it's worth trying to find a cabriolet dash. Maybe a roadster dash would tuck up behind the cowl lip but I think it's about an inch less width

And yes it's a glass body, boxed 33 frame, 59L with a t5, 46 banjo with lockrite.
