This is some pictures taken at our annual Art Deco Weekend, celebrating the rebirth of Napier after the devastating earthquake of 1931.

Here are some more. The black '34 sedan was bought new by Gerald Husheer, a local tobacco magnate, who had it chauffer driven while he awaited delivery of his RHD Pierce Arrow. Up until recently the car had accessory Goodyear wheels which were put on when purchased. The '34 Buick roadster was one of 5 '34 roadsters here for the weekend, 1 Ford, 1 Chev, 2 Plymouths, and the Buick. The Red '34 Buick Sport Coupe would be pretty rare I am thinking.

Last lot. The Lady that owned the bike on the back of the Packard, had recently ridden a bike from Peking to Paris!

Lot of nice cars! In addition to the Model A's, I really like that Packard.

"I really like that Packard. "

There seemed to be quite a few of them here this year, most of them were convertibles. The green one was used in all of the publicity shots and was an outstanding restoration.

Don't rub it in Bick! Missed out on going to Napier as we could not leavet the port of Tauranga due to bad weather. We did see a 1930 Tourer in Akaroa earning its keep taking tourists for a drive. And my wife took a photo of the AA at the Cadbury factory in Dunedin. I think you live in the best place in the world!!! If the wife and I could get work we would be there in an instant!! I will be back!

I noticed that all of the cans were sitting in a bracket of some kind on the running boards. Unlike here in the states we would just put in on the board and put a gate around it.
