So true.

This job would be an easy one day repair and replace for some of the metal masters out there.

Flop, Miles for Delaware, Evan @ Speakeasy Motors. Once done, you'd never know it was ever there.

Odd, that never bothered me. I always thought it was a clever way to solve that particular "Real Estate Problem".

I have a great deal of respect for those that want to make their as original as it came out of the factory, or make suttle mods to improve the looks of the car/truck.
Unfortunately, I just don't have the talent, or the funds to do this. When I was a young man, married with 2 children. I built a 40 coupe up Belgen Black laquer, DeSota front and rear bumpers. OEM hearlite rims , ETC Stock 59 engine. rebuilt the suspension new shocks.
I bought a house and put an addition onit for my growing family (ended up with 4). Sold the 40 for 600 bucks. Haven't spent a nickel on aesthetics since.

I would really considered cutting it out and making a proper replacement patch for it.

On my 41 the bodyman/painter pounded out a piece of sheet metal on the garage floor until it matched the shape of the fender. It was then welded onto the fender and he ground the joint smooth. Turned out perfect.

I did have to do some welding on the running board. Had hot bed liner applied which is bullet proof.
