Re: Napa Auto Parts
This is great, I didn't know this existed.
Is the "condenser" in the list the V8 one? I assume so. |

Re: Napa Auto Parts
I miss my old NAPA store, just like an old time hardware store.

Re: Napa Auto Parts
Thank you Jojo1928. This is extremely helpful as the Tisco junk is prevalent among suppliers.

Re: Napa Auto Parts
The list is a neat to have but I sure would hate to pay NAPA prices for some of that stuff, ...even with my discount with them. Spindle Bolts are around $90 from the Model-A vendors and $177 from NAPA. Ignition points are about $5.00 more a set thru NAPA, and the good Model-A condenser from the vendors is more than ½ the price of what NAPA charges. Maybe if you factor in the freight prices on mail ordering it in, it equalizes the price somewhat. None the less, thank you JoJo for updating and posting.

Re: Napa Auto Parts
Thank you for your effort for making that list. I have found the local napa dealer to be higher on parts but I don't worry about the quality as I would if I went to some others. I am surprised at the amount of parts they handle. For the heavy duty side I always used Cooks and Fleet pride.

Re: Napa Auto Parts
I came close to getting arrested at the only NAPA parts shop around. I drove 280 miles one saturday due to them repeatedly giving me the wrong part. To say I was unpleasant the last time I was there is an understatement. I did get a full refund on what they had first said were one-way parts.
But growing up I agree they were more expensive, but had the best quality parts and most knowledgeable people. I cant say that currently. |

Re: Napa Auto Parts
Good Morning...In my humble opinion...our Model A Suppliers like Bratton's and Snyders...are the best place to purchase top quality parts...those that sell for much less, frequently provide lesser quality parts...NAPA is known for top quality parts...as well...but their level of expertise in old machines has dropped off...as you frequently find folks under 30 at the counter and all they know is what the computer tells them...As regards pruchasing parts by price...there is an old, old saying...'cheep people generally have to pay twice'...Ernie in Arizona

Re: Napa Auto Parts
A friend just bought one from Napa, $17. He could not use it. Too short by 1/2 inch. It was 14 in and he needed 14.5. He returned it. Belts are in short supply for some reason.
