Some old pics. 40 Ford open wide.
Just thought I'd share some pics.
First pic shows that you can pull the motor on a 40 Ford without taking the hood off. And here's why it had to come out: Damage was more than skin deep: All this was about 15 years ago. That was a low mileage German flatty. Look at the lovely crack free deck faces. I was able to locate one genuine German piston and get it back up and running again. The German water pumps from that engine are on my roadster. The rear distributor was discarded and a front mount distributor was fitted. First a helmet then a crab on a 3 to 2 bolt adaptor. I was browsing some old pics and thought you might find them interesting. Those that have watched my videos will see me being really careful about making sure the ports and cylinders are clear of any foreign bodies. A lesson learnt from this motor. Mart. |
