Garage update
The A barn needs the floor painted and electrical finished. Move in 3/1 is what I'm shooting for. Building is 32x36 with a 13' ceiling. R49 blown insulation. Heated with a Old MPI Monitor 41 does a great job. Using old metal roofing and barn wood on the walls.

Re: Garage update
Looks really good you are going to enjoy your new shop. And it will not take long to fill it up and then the problem begins, do I add on or do I build a new larger building. It just never ends. We are going to start to build our new house this year and the shop is going up first.mine is going to be 40 by 80 and 16 ft tall so I can add a second floor later. Congratulation looks really nice enjoy.

Re: Garage update
One 2 post lift probably a Atlas. A KR Wilson press is going in also. Will be adding a small deck on the back side of the roof....I made a major mistake by going tall, blocked my view of the Chesapeake Bay from the house. Lady friends like to have a glass of wine and a view of the Bay in the evening.

Re: Garage update
Very nice garage, I wish I had enough land to put one up like that. I have a 2and 1/2 car garage with 4 vehicles. I have to store one at my son's house.

Nice, except for blocking your view of the Bay.

Re: Garage update
Wick, the barn looks great. Did you pour extra thick concrete with re bar where the two post will go?

Re: Garage update
Super awesome space, Wick, you'll be having a blast out there!
As far as the concrete, the lift installers usually don't want/need rebar because they do not wanna hit any when they drill. The vast majority of the installers will tell you that a 6" slab will work just fine. The most important thing is to let the concrete season since it tends to be soft in the beginning

Re: Garage update
Hey, Wick, it's nice to see that you are enjoying yourself. I wish I had a view of the Chesapeake bay, but all I have seen recently is Rock Hill flood water, LOL. Best of luck on your new project.

Re: Garage update
The floor is 6" thick with wire in it. The side door I found on Craigslist. When I move in there will be more pictures.

Re: Garage update
Hi Wick,
Your shop is really great ...... but ....... per your above reply no. 4 ........ most Model A owners will also agree that not dismissing the beautiful Bay View, adding a raised deck and especially not forgetting that glass of wine ...... is just another very clear indication of your far above average talent and most superior intelligence. |
