Default 1929 Town Car

My friend just sold this real Town Car to a local Gentleman and he has another that is also in perfect condition. The new owner actually drove this car to our car show yesterday.
just is a beautiful car, especially the interior.

Thanks for the pictures. You don't see them very often. Snyder's had one in their store on display.

I saw both in the previous owner's garage last year. To see one is amazing. Two see two at the same time is unbelievable.

Tim Kelly has 2 town cars, and says he knows where every surviving town car is. There is one not far from here in a private collection.

My understand that there is 26 left in the world, they are really nice cars, well constructed and oh so elegant

I've seen a few Town Cars at the national meets, and I have to think they are everyone's dream car. They look even better in person than in pictures.

When a good friend was restoring his Town Car, I gave him a great deal on an original red steering wheel. He let me drive the restored beauty one afternoon, and while it drove nicely, I was terrified the whole trip.

I got to steer one while being pushed so we could move it. I am short at 5'4" and my knees were scratching my nose there is that little leg room. She steered like a dream though.

Vern, your a good friend for letting me rape your roadster for that special red steering wheel that I so desperately needed and still have. And yes, I'm terrified whenever I drive the car still too!

In 2001 the Model A Restorer's Club published a book with title "The Model A Makes Its MARC". Turning to pages 192 & 193 you will find a color photo of 5 Model A Town Cars and one Town Car Delivery, all owned by Carle E. Garrett at that time. One of the Town Cars was said to be the only one in USA with right hand drive. I believe the collection has since been broken up.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I'm stuck in the hospital and am bored. I was a teenager and watched Rick Carroll's TC being restored which forever hooked me in the Model A hobby. Anyway, I wonder whatever happened to the 30 TC that was offered on Ford Barn about a year ago. Price started about 100K. There was a lot of discussion here as to price but even in its pathetic condition it was still a TC. Hope it is being restored.

am guessing it never sold at that price-so many small items were missing............
wrong chassis etc. when you were done, you had a TC made from pieces old and new
correct restoration at a shop would prob cost 200k

The town car is such a remarkable automobile. When I was a young boy a friend of my dad drove one over one Sunday afternoon to our house. I was enamored by that car even as a kid. He took us for a ride and we thought we were all the stuff. It was the closest thing that any of us ever came to a Limo at the time. He had the car for a number of years and he died there after of a heart attack. I never saw the car again. Years later I found out that his wife had sold the car to a local car dealer for next to nothing. I wished I had been of age to have bought the car. It was the most beautiful car I had ever seen then and still is in my memory today. If my memory is right the figure for the sale was $500. Which still was a decent amount of money for the time but no where near what it was worth, it was a perfect example . I even remember him telling us that it was the same type of car that a famous actress had Joan Crawford . I did not even know she was. This would have been around 1959 to 1960
