Default ..and now I feel guilty!

Having received my new steering parts for the 34, I built the steering box, adjusted it and filled with grease - all very easy and as a result I now have a perfect steering box waiting to be put back into the car. The steering tube with the attached lock needed a bit of work to the lower tube end so I did what was needed, had the steering lock apart and got everything nice and working again - perfect! When opening the jaws of the vice somehow I lost control and dropped the tube, put a little dent in the upper end and of course broke the 87 year old lever of the steering lock. To say that I am really upset about myself is only half the truth - that part survived for 87 years and now its broken! Does anyone have one for sale or knows if they are available anywhere?
BTW - what was connected to the electric switch on the steering lock?
