Default Door Patch Panels for 28-29 pickup

I am restoring a 1929 Closed Cab Pickup. Both door have the usual rust out on the bottoms of the doors. One door has rot out for a little over 5 inches from the bottom and the other door is rotted out for about 3 inches from the bottom. I have purchased the standard patch panels from Snyder's. They are about 7-1/2 inches high. The way the doors were manufactured has the edges of the doors curve slightly in on one side and slightly out on the other side. The door patches are straight. How do you install the straight patches on the curved original doors and make them look good?
