1936 truck door drawings
I have a friend who is putting together a '36 truck. He's trying to get the door glass in but when he rolls the windows down they slide out of the track. He thinks he's missing a part in the back of the door. There's four beveled holds on the back edge of the door like there should be something bolted to the inside of the door.
Does anyone have a drawing or diagram from a shop manual or parts catalog that shows the parts? Thanks, Bob |

Re: 1936 truck door drawings
He is correct there should be about 1' of rear channel extending down from the upper channel and its mounted in the 4 holes; Is he missing the bolt in the middle of the lower glass channel as too? that will drop it out of the regulator as well. Haven't found any pictures yet will look a little more. Sorry I looked high and low nothing! Would take pictures of mine but they are fully covered someone may have them out.

I don't know if he's missing the bolt. I just stopped at his house tonight and he told me of the trouble he was having. I'm just trying to help find the information for him. I would greatly appreciate any pictures you can post.
Thanks, Bob |

Isn't there a stop bolt that fits in the regulator to act as a stop? Seems like I remember that.

Re: 1936 truck door drawings
Bump for the Saturday crowd. Anyone have a exploded parts diagram. I have them for the later '48 and up but the manuals I have for the earlier truck don't have diagrams.
Thanks again, Bob |

I also would like some info re assembling the window regulator for a 36 truck. I can't seem to get my windows to go forward to sit in the front channel. I seem to remember that the window should move backwards slightly (1 or 2") before it starts to retract. Is that correct? My doors were apart when I got the truck. The channels and runs are imported reproductions from Mac, as is the glass. I've got 3 sets of used regulators from different sources, at least 2 of which were labeled 35-37 Ford Truck, so I think I have the correct parts to work with. Anybody have a link to instructions / ajustments / illustrations so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong? |
