Default 1937 Ford door window felt

Are window "felt" and "anti-rattler" the same thing? I'll use "felt" for the purpose of explaining this post.

I need to install the interior side of the window felt for the glass on both doors of my '37. The exterior felt is in place but the interior side is non-existent. So my questions are:

1. How is the interior felt attached to the garnish molding? I've heard glued, stapled and screwed but there are no holes in my garnish molding.

2. Why do some felts have a stainless trim? Was this for deluxe models?

3. Can I purchase just the interior felt? If so, where?

4. Is "felt" and "anti-rattler" the same thing?

Thanks!

1. Clips and sometimes staples. No holes = clips.
2. Aftermarket usually for 37-39.
3. Not sure.
4. Yes - in that they serve the same purpose.

For the felts, try Steele Rubber Co, part # 40-0539-57

i just did mine on my 39 tudor and the orriginals were stapled to the garnish mouldings. the new kit comes with both staples and small screws which i used as i could not staple thru the metal. the kits i used are made by Vintique and are of good quality but only come as sets to do the whole window. mark039,

Where did you buy yours? Any problem or possibility of the screws hitting or scratching the glass?

The screws provided are very small, maybe #4, flathead. They are inserted through the felt into the garnish and the head buries itself in the felt.
