Default W. Oregon- Large V8 stash to be scrapped

Go get these- somebody local. Stayton [OR] Auto Wrecking is to be scrapped and 'cleaned up'. There is a good collection of Ford flatheads inside! and a few outside. The '51 Merc V8 is Sold, but I saw a '34 and a '35 complete w carbs inside and numerous 59A, 59AB, and 8BA's inside. Even a 337" Lincoln V8 inside, next to a '47 Cad V8 flathead! Bring a good flashlite- dark old buildings. Time is Rapidly running out for these engines. It would be the Second large scrapping of Flatheads that I have witnessed this yr locally. Newc

Wish I were local . . . would pickup the 34 and 35. Come on boys and girls, go rescue these flatheads - all of them!

I went by there this morning and talked to Dennis. He is not quite ready to sell out the Flatheads at low prices. He said he wanted to dig them out and see which ones turned over and which ones didn't turn over. He is going on a couple of hunting trips and won't get to them for a while. He said he's going to have an auction in February for the tools and equipment, but didn't say when the prices for the Flatheads would come down. He wouldn't tell me how much he wanted for each motor, so I gave him my number and told him I'd like to buy three or four of them if the price was right. Maybe he'll call, maybe not. We'll see.

I spoke with him over the phone on Monday and he said that he thought most of the engines he had were the newer 49-53 8BA types. At that time he said he would do an inventory and get back with prices. It didn’t sound like selling them at this time was a real high priority.
