Default 1939 Ford Deluxe Center Piece

Hello All,

I recently bought a grill for my '39 ford deluxe. I'm having trouble fitting the center piece on and matching up the screws with the screw holes.

Just curious if anyone else has had an issue with this and what the solution was for it?

much appreciated!

First question, is each grille bar separately made, then welded together to a perimeter frame that is also welded together? If so, that is likely an aftermarket grille (1940's to today's Argentina). Those grilles are notorious for poor fit.

Consider posting a photo of the grille (both front and back) and the trim (front and back). That will help us pick things apart.

Does indeed look like aftermarket.
In order to have parts fit together the holes will have to be elongated as required.

Can anyone explain what characteristics qualifies it as an aftermarket?

I have two centerpieces (original one) fits perfect but it is pitted and not great to work with and the new Bob drake center piece doesn’t fit perfectly.
