Just discovered this interesting thread on 2 door wagons and it reminded me of many years ago when I got to drive a 4 door Ford wagon. I think it was a 62 or maybe 63. At the time (1971) it seemed like an old car to me. Not sure if it had the 352 or 390 but I was expecting a real powerhouse driving it home from the city. I guess it was feeling it's age already as it was not real snappy performance.. Needless to say I wish I had it now but I was only piloting it home for a friend who soon sold it. Not even a picture to show. So here is an ad for a 1958 Del Rio two door station wagon.

Canadian 1957 Meteor Two Door Ranch Wagon, but the Side Chrome Trim is different to the above picture on the original Sales Brochure?

Same car but different trim levels. The AD shows a NIAGARA 300 RANCH WAGON.

... or ... The second photo has side trim from a US RANCH WAGON.

... or again ...

Look @ 2nd ATTACHMENT below -

Hard to call w/o FORD of CANADA Reference Materials ...

Quote:
Ford's 1957 cars had brand new styling. The new grille was quite low and had thin horizontal bars running all across the front and around the front fenders to the wheel openings. In a throwback to 1955, a V and star cut the grille at the middle.

Side trim was vaguely like Ford's. On the upper series, the two chrome strips provided space for two- or three-tone finishes.

Exactly like Ford, Meteor came in five series. They were Niagara, Niagara 300, the longer Rideau and Rideau 500, and the four station wagons made up their own series. Meteor buyers had a choice of 17 models.

The 250,000th Meteor was built in 1957.

Quote:
To serve everyone from tradesmen to large families, there was a two- and four-door Ranch wagon listing for $2,831 and $2,959, respectively, and a six- or nine-passenger Country Sedan at $3,065 and $3,325. The latter was the most expensive Meteor that money could buy. Although classified as trucks, exactly 300 beautiful Meteor Ranchero pickups were built, too.

This is the same car as in the previous photo. In reality, this Wagon is either a USA Ford Two Door Ranch Wagon with a Canadian 57 Meteor Grille, or a 1957 Canadian Meteor with the Side Trim from a USA Ford Ranch Wagon. It is still a very nice car.

That is not known until one has access to the vehicle PATENT PLATE and the proper reference material(s).

Case in point, the 57 DEL RIO had the same BODY CODE as the one step down exterior trim level.

1957 US Ranch wagons had two different body codes. Base Ranch Wagon was 59A and the upgraded Del Rio was 59B. I assume the Canadian Meteor had two trim levels too.

I've seen the picture of this car in two different places. I thought only the lowest models had the "planes" on the quarter panels. And...I've never seen a wagon with the behind the wheel trim. I think someone added the behind the wheel trim. Am I right? Or wrong?

Rare 1959 Ford Two Door Ranch Wagon with Fairlane Trim added on rear quarters. This Trim did not appear on the Wagons.

Cover - 1959 Ford Station Wagon Brochure.
Notice that the Fairlane Wagon didn't have this rear quarter Trim?
