Pertronix coils
Hello, I have the 1942 -47 12v pertronix ignition module in my crab distributor and the 1.5 ohm internal resistor coil. It has way too much spark for ignition components to cope with.
I tried fitting another 1.5 ohm ballast to the positive lead to the coil but this caused no spark. I have another 1.5 ohm coil but if i run that I need the resistor witch will then cause no spark as it drops the voltage down to the module too low. If I run the positive lead from the distrubtor module upstream from the external ballast resistor would that cause trouble? It then would be inbtween 3 ohms. Having trouble finding a coil to match |

You will have better results if you call Pertronix and speak with a tech who can tell you other considerations that might be helpful. Be sure to have the part numbers of the pertronix parts you are already using. Here's the number: https://pertronixbrands.com/pages/contact-us |
