1930 speedo gear case question
I bought a new speedo cable square end , my old cable was rotted away at the tourque tube, when i took the speedo gear case off I noted that it was cracked 3/4 of the way around. I have another case but need to replace the gear. Is there a video on how to get that gear out or can someone explain it?
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all. |

Re: 1930 speedo gear case question
FWIW
Remove the welsh plug and you can remove the shaft that the gear runs on and remove the gear. Repeat the process with the second drive unit. Reassemble the good case and gear. You may have to drill a small hole in the welsh plug to remove it. You should be able to get a replacement welsh plug from your local friendly NAPA parts dealer. If not solder the hole and reinstall.
