Default Pertronix With Original Pop Out Switch….

My ‘31 has the Pertronix module in the distributor but a repro key switch. Any problems if I still use the Pertronix unit but install a pop out switch? Thanks…

FSI says don't use a pop-out. Original Ford wiring had the coil hot at all times and the switch provided the ground for the points. Your switch undoubtedly connects the battery to the hot side of the coil and the ground side is done automatically. Grounding of electronic devices is extremely important, I ground my FSI directly to the battery.

If you wire from the battery side of the terminal box to the power side of the
ignition switch, wire from the other side of the ignition switch to the + side
of the coil, wire from the - side of the coil to the power source wire of the
pertronix unit it will work.

Coil and Pertronix unit is energized with the switch on and de-energized with the switch off.

Original pop out, No. It just wouldn't be practical. Modern switch that has a pop out feature, yes but it should be switching the power line to the hot side of the coil and not the hall effect module in the distributor.
