I've nearly completed work on the body of my boat tail speedster. Here are a couple of pictures to show you the progress. I posted earlier to this thread. Again I'm, using a Model A frame, engine and running gear. I've shortened the frame and rear axle about 11 inches to get the proportions of the body right. I'm using a 32 front axle with Model A spindles and a reverse eye spring to lower the front end. I Z'd the rear of the frame and reduced the number of leafs in the rear spring to lower the rear. I reversed the location of the tie rod balls to get the proper clearance for the tie rod to the front cross member.

I've seen the bonnet (hood) of a 30s or 40s car used as the top of the boat tail. It opened for access to a great luggage storage area but that might be for someone who doesn't knwo whether they are coming or going!

Anything goes on a speedster! Some use a hood off other vehicles. Commonly International K series trucks, 1940 era. I've also seen '50 Chevy pickup and '40 Fords. I always thought the '40 Willys would look great. As seen above, you don't even need a factory built body.
