Default Cork or felt in U-joint housing?

Just received the gasket set for the rear end and u-joint, the set came with cork instead of felt for the clamshell. Anyone have any experience using the cork? I am debating on just reusing the existing felt that is already in the clamshell vs the cork.

Trying to get the car ready for this weekend so I do not have time to wait and reorder one with felt instead. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I haven't heard of cork in the clamshell. I would reuse the felt you already have installed.

Be sure to liberally grease the inside and outside of the cups.

From the '32 parts book...B-4516 (was A prefix, same part for all), "Felt (universal joint housing cap)"
Cork can be used, but is a bit of a wrestling match as you try to get it curved in two planes long enough to assemble.

When I ordered my last such set, it came with BOTH types in same package. So, I use both. On the cork, I put in hot water to 'relax' it and use a sealant with whichever I install. Both , installed properly, work great ...JMO !

Have used cork often, dry, with no problems.
