Ford in Chicago did issue badges. The book, Ford Motor Co Worldwide Employee Badges, ID Cards, Passes & Permits, lists them. They also have a Rarity Guide and some of the Chicago badges appear to be fairly rare. If you have any interest in badges and other Ford ID issues, the book is well worth getting. Plus all proceeds from the sale of the book go directly to the operation of the Ealy Ford V-8 Museum in Auburn, IN.

They are harder to find than the Rouge or Dearborn but not the rarest of the rare. I have one and know a few other people with them.

Here are three badges in my collection.

The first is a Chicago employee badge.

The second is a Ford Plant Protection badge from the early 50's. A.E.D. stands for Aircraft Engine Division. I'm fairly certain this plant was the old Dodge plant on the southside that built the B-29 during WWII, before being used to build the Tucker, and then Ford bought it. You can see the State of Illinois Seal in the center.

The third picture is of a badge I got a few years back at an estate sale of a Model A carb rebuilder. You can see it is a police style shield that says Police Zenith Carburetor Div. Throwing in in here because, what the hell...

I got this belt buckle from my grandmother shortly before she passed away. She told me that it was a gift from ford that her father received as a token for 20 years employment She said that he started working for ford before she was born but shortly after he immigrated from England. My math puts him probably starting at ford around 1930. Im not sure what he did. Wonder if any have seen one exactly like it. I have found similar. but none that have the area between the f and the o filled. I wear it nearly every day.

Interesting, your's has a different number of vertical fins than mine and the tail on your "F" is also longer than on mine.

I think this is what you are asking about - not sure if it's valuable. Any ideas?

I'd like to have an LA badge because that's where Henrietta was born, but not for this kind of money.

I started just a few years ago. Just wanted to collect Rouge Badges mostly since I worked in the Rouge complex for 17 years and love the history. I have since branched out to other Ford Badges as well

I hope you have bought the Ford Employee Badge book! It's available at http://fordv8foundation.org/store.html under BOOKS. If you do have one, there are now several updates on the site: http://fordv8foundation.org/badgebook.html

We're getting close to reordering it. I'm hoping to include all the additions that have cropped up since it was first published.

A couple of my items were sent in already. I will definitely get a new edition when it's available at least to support the work.

Looking to possibly trade one of my original Lincoln Motor Company badges for an original Ford Oval badge one day.

Hello,

I’m looking for someone willing to sell a Seattle Employee Badge. If you know of anyone with one that’s willing to sell, could you please let me know?

Thank You

Richard
