1930 1931 Roadster windshield ram horn question.
Were the original ram horns that the windshield lower post stanchions attach to original some sort of casting? Were they vulnerable to cracking or just plain falling apart? I see that repros are some sort of casting and not drilled or tapped and pretty expensive. My '31 looks like it has some sort of fabrication under the lower stanchions and I had a '30 roadster that I do not remember the parts looking like the "ram's horns" that vendor sell. Is this a tough to find original Ford part? Thank You. I may try Bert's.

Re: 1930 1931 Roadster windshield ram horn question.
I bought a ruff roadster body a few years ago that I’m sure had been upside down in a junk yard. The ram horns had been busted off and brazed back together very crookedly. I still have them somewhere They were some kind of cast steel and riveted to the framing behind the cowl panels. I got replacement from brook I’ll that we’re cast brass. I had a restoration shop rivet the new ones on. They drilled and tapped for the screws for the lower Stantion bracket. It turned out to be expensive and the shop that did the work tapped the wrong threads so I couldn’t use original screws. Hope this helps. Should of said brookville. Frank
