Default Different dipsticks

I gathered all my dipsticks together to compare markings. I think my 38 has the wrong dipstick as it reads low after 5 L is added with no filter.
It’s kind of interesting as some are to be read while holding it in your right hand and the others in your left.

I wonder how many different dip sticks and tubes where made?

38-39 85HP use the 48-6750 16 3/4" O.A.L. Make sure the tube on the pan is the correct length. 8 3/8" From the lower end of the stick to "Low" is 23/32, From "Low" to "full" is 1 13/32, From "Full" to the stop plate is 11 23/32

I bought a pretty chrome plated dipstick for my 59A/B but it read a quart high with 5 quarts in the engine, so I put a thick rubber grommet on it so that it would indicate correctly.

dipsticks tell lies thats just how it is Always check the calibration with a known amount of oil some will be high some low [in the heavy side of the game most replacement sticks are blank and you need to mark them when fitting ] due to wide variety of sumps and applications

I just put in 5 qts and use a sharp punch, or a triangle file and mark it proper at full
