Wire Harness Routing
I just pulled the 59 AB from my 1936 Ford for a rebuild and noticed the headlight harness was routed over the top of the bottom radiator hoses. I'm certain that's not correct. Should it be secured to the cross member or go in front of the radiator? Thanks

Re: Wire Harness Routing
Hi Everyone. Fixncats, Welcome to the FordBarn Forums!
Yes, the '36 headlight harness runs below the hoses, on the side of the rad that the driver looks at, clipped to the crossmember, I think with two clips. Great diagrams here, but not showing the clips. Maybe that's in the '35-36 Book that the EFV-8 Club publishes, written by member Don Rogers. I don't have it close enough to look right now. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...electrical.htm

Re: Wire Harness Routing
Hi Everyone, I'm replacing the electrical harnesses on my 1936 Ford with my engine out. Question, one side of the new firewall grommet has a large hole and the other a small, which way does the grommet face? Thank you

Re: Wire Harness Routing
Fixn; the large side of the firewall grommet faces the engine.
On my 35, the headlite wiring crosses over from one side to the other OVER the bottom radiator outlets, there are a couple of little clips soldered at the bottom of the core/top of bottom tank, that hold said wiring loom in place. As 35 and 36 share the same wiring, I'd imagine 36 is routed the same.

Re: Wire Harness Routing
agree with brian, there was little tabs soldered onto the bottom radiator tank to hold the wiring in place.

The other image shows the main firewall grommet with the smaller opening facing the engine compartment. Hope that this helps...Don Rogers |

Re: Wire Harness Routing
Would this be the same route for a '39? Thanks.
