Default Bought a new toy need some door questions answered please.

Well bought a new project just haven't picked it up yet so kinda jumping the gun so to speak but it's a huckster truck project. Not sure if going to build wooden doors or no doors just open cab or metal doors. It's a 28/29 but I'm not sure what it was before being cut up. Maybe tudor sedan? Or regular truck cab or something else? If I go with metal doors I will definitely have to build some type of door jamb at the rear but that could be made of wood as I've seen in pictures of other hucksters. Can anyone tell what this cowl came from? Probably have to wait till I actually put my grubby fingers on the new toy! Can't wait be a couple weeks before I get .pick it up. Feel kinda like a kid waiting g on Christmas! Any help will be greatly appreciated. By the way still working on the 29 tudor. Almost got that covered. Thanks Robert

wood doors could be nice, as well as lowering the rear window.

all in the "balance" of design

The seat riser looks like 28-29 coupe.

Thanks for your response everybody as stated not sure which direction I'm going to go but just trying to figure out what doors would fit plus if 28/29 would interchange with between different models? I just am not that educated about that aspect. I'm sure 30/31's would be different? But for example are Tudors and coups use the same door and etc. I got to get it home first going a couple states away to pick it up so I surely have my work cut out for sometime. But it's good therapy for the mind and soul! Thanks Robert

28-29 coupe and Tudor doors are the same. It will save you a lot of work to just use original doors, if they can be found. And yes, 30-31 doors are all different from 28-29 doors.

Look again .......... this looks like a pickup cowl. The front post is higher than 29/29 coupe or Tudor as the pickup takes 26/27 Model T tudor doors. Note the high vertical header panel above the windshield and the 2holes in the cowl post above the top hinge where the pickup side view mirror bolts on. I believe the hinges and possibly the hinge spacing also vary between the 28/29 pickup and the 28/29 tudor or coupe.

Well not sure at all now. As I said I was jumping the gun a little haven't got it home yet. I have a 29 Tudor so can compare the doors with it just thought I possibly could find out but I see I have alot more to look and learn. But I'm sure once I actually get it home I can get some measurements and find out what doors are correct. As it is a project I know for sure there are many things to do before I e er get to the doors just kinda working out a plan as you never know what parts you may run across. Thanks Robert

Try this:
Reach out to the seller... Hopefully you can contact the original owner (or family?)
Long shot for sure, but if it's geographically possible I would urge you to take a careful look through that nice looking Barn the truck was being kept in.
Also, IMHO: trust Bob Bader, he's a human encyclopedia
Great looking project!

Could be a pickup cowl, but the two holes at the top of the doorpost are where the visor bolts on. The outside rearview mirror mounts lower, between the top hinge and the center hinge

Thanks Bclif, I stand corrected. The top holes on the cowl post ARE, indeed, for mounting the visor. Also, the picture posted by Bclif shows the lower holes for the mirror as well as the difference in the hinges. Note, The hinges in Bclif’s pictures show the pickup type hinges mounted on the rear face of the cowlpost while as the earlier picture of the poster’s “new project” show the hinge stubs mounted on the body face of the cowl post as is correct for the Tudor/Coupe bodies.

Thanks for the kudos stating I am an encyclopedia, but even encyclopedias sometimes need to check and re-check. I bow to the pictures ........... which, as we all know ........... “are worth 1000 words”. Good work!

Thanks everyone for the help I'm not sure what I have as I am seeing what you all are as I haven't picked it up yet have only seen pictures also but all the information sounds good. Here is another view a little better angle I didn't realize I had. So everyone thinks it is a 28/29 tudor or coupe cowl so doors from these two body styles will fit? Thanks Robert
