Cowl Vent 1939 Truck
I need to replace the Cowl Vent on my 1939 Ford 1/2 ton pick-up.
What years will be interchangeable and are the cars the same? Someone in the past welded over where mine should be ??? |

Re: Cowl Vent 1939 Truck
Could be that the original cowl vent is under body filler or lead. Check it out and see, maybe you don't need a new vent.

Re: Cowl Vent 1939 Truck
Thanks Bill. It does appear to be welded in place. We are going to try to cut the weld and see what is there. Will still need the arm and linkage if I can get it to move.

Before you start grinding welds I would get the pieces I'm going to need to return it to work like original. FWIW

How about leaving that mod alone and installing aftermarket sliding back window. They are available and easy to install. They cool of the cab much better than the cowl.

I'm thinking Carpenter of Drake. Mine were old reproes.
