Default Ethanol

Ranchers may soon persuade a State to request the EPA to temporarily reduce or drop Ethanol requirements. The drought is pitting Cattlemen against Refiners/Distributors for declining supplies of corn.

EPA is said to be favorable to a reduction on a temporary basis, even though cleaner emissions would suffer.

Ethanol is such a waste of energy,

Save the corn for feed for cattle.. Makes my steaks taste better.

I don't know if it's the ethanol or what, but California fuel is bad news even for modern engines. On really hot days my 31 pickup wants to vapor lock. I blame the fuel for raising the temp in the engine compartment. Never seem to have that trouble in the coupe. Not sure why.

that's why all my non-cat toys burn avgas - no alcohol. My Harley *really* loves 100 octane...

I agree, 100 octane with tetraethyl lead will perform much much better. With the road tax issue, its not easy for guys that don't have air planes to obtain. I know that I am happy that we finally got a Shell station that sells corn free gas here in Tville.
