I've got 6 cars, 4 of which are model a's that are constantly having something done to each one of them. So they all eventually turn into rolling projects. I can't finish one without starting on a new car. Still trying to find time to finish the speedster, get my coupe tuned in, and get the deluxe phaeton project started.

Gee whiz, Bill, I look for excuses to NOT go out in the garage a work on my Master Cylinder and other stuff, But I have an excuse! I'm not in sunny Californicate! After two hours I'm frozen to the bone in our "moderate" Pennsylvania climate. And the going underneath on the hard, cold cement is taking it's toll. I don't know about Doc Martin, might be a bad influence! And those ears! And he hates dogs, and, and he can't stand the sight of blood. He should have been here a few days ago, Maybe not. I tried to cut my left index finger of with my 4 1/2" grinder. That was fun! It hurt too. Ah well, it's usually the right one that almost gets amputated. I see my shiver proof jacket that I wear when i'm going under, it's all warmed up again from last night. wish me luck!

1. My garage is too small, no room to work on them during the winter, with 3 cars and a motorcycle in there.
2. The checks only come in once a month.
3. Waiting for parts.
4. My honey wants the bedroom painted.
5. Hurt my back from shovle'n snow.
6. Too many things to do and so little time.

Aside from running out of money, or no parts, there is the excuse of pulling it apart & forgetting what was wrong with it but it needed fixing.

-Average 70~80 hrs a week for work, soon to be horribly more because of work moving to downtown Chicago making for a daily 4 hr commute.
-Do the cooking and cleaning for the family because the wife is caring for her parents.
-Maintaining the daily drivers.

Thank you, Barn Brothers, for puttin' up with our silliness. Don't really know why, but I just haven't been in the right mood to finish the car. I sense that many of you have hurts, problems, etc, WORSE than ME.
I "think" I have it together now:
Yesterday, as the nurse was taking out my face stitches-------"You got that Model A finished yet"----"NO"!-----"WHY'?----"You want a LIST"?-----"NO, you sound like my husband, he's STUPID & LAZY"! As I zipped out on my NEW scooter, she said, "Goodby, Frank"----"NO, it's BILL"!-----"NO, you're a FRANK"!-----And as I went out the main door, in 3rd speed------"And you're a FAT BROAD"!!!!!----Fortunately, that's my LAST appointment there, WHEW!
Bill W. (OH! on finishing the car, I FOUND my missing crank today, still searchin' fer the HOOD!)

Dead broke, after 7 years of constant challanges with having colon cancer, job loss and my youngest daughters illness I will be lucky to still have the house by the end of the year. Working on the A would be a dream. Definately not stuffed with a lie here. Rod

Most of the above, plus the dog ate the distributor cam lube and the guy at the parts store has never heard of distributors, points, cam, or lube...
And damn that Doc Martin. I was much better off when I thought the show must be about British boots for delinquents.

The circle of life for me...

I can somewhat empathize with Rowdy and I'll pray things improve for you. We lost our daughter at birth a year and a half ago, and my wife almost died before she delivered and despite having heath insurance we had some VERY healthy medical bills, and I'm still paying them off and will be for about another year. Any discretionary spending I had to put toward my model A vaporized right then an there. (Of course keeping perspective I'll take her vs. the car and I'm thankful my wife is now healthy!) Against better judgment I've forged ahead and am still making headway though. I guess you only live once right? and after all it was grandpa's car! Those are my excuses anyway. The car has been good therapy for me.

I hear you, Dave,
Sad about jr's hands, in post # 12 & let's remember to pray to God for the COMPLETE healing of Rowdy's colon cancer.
My hands are still pretty good, except for an ugly knarled left pinkie, that put the hooks to my wanting to learn the guitar, No big deal!
My legs are funky, BUT while out on my scooter, I met a cool dude, with NO legs. I'm thankful for the things I can still do!

Thankfully I have been cancer free for 6 years. But still have checkups every 6 months and CT scans every year. Everything else that has happened since then has all added up and left us in a tough spot. More bad news just before Christmas this year. Although it will not affect us finacially it sent me into a depression that I am slow to dig myself out of. Rod
