Fender braces
Wondering if any of you have used the brackets to replace the Y yoke bracket holding the fenders in place? 1940 Ford If so, heavy enough to be worth buying or should i just build some? Sales fellow at Drakes had no idea how or what they were made of or how sturdily built.
Thanks, Fourdy |

I bought a set from Drake on my first convert, a '40 and then made my own on the other three converts I did. They are not difficult to make. |

Re: Fender braces
I'm feeling that you both agree that they are strong enough to do the job. From the pic I can't tell if they are flimsy.

or 1/8 x 1 x 1 angle iron. They are bolted to holes already in the stock frame. I didn't drill any new holes. You could also use square tubing. Cap it off and drill access holes to hide the bolt heads. Still working after 20 years. Last edited by 19Fordy; 06-19-2019 at 08:28 AM. |

I've used the Drake ones and they are plenty strong.
