Default "BTTT" Overuse

Should Fordbarn limit the number of times that a post or ad can be Run Back To The Top ?
I just read an ad in the "A" Section, that was a page and a half long, and it was one ad and the rest "BTTT".

The Original Poster should just DELETE all of their BTTT posts,
to Unclutter their ad........ It is easy to do.

It gets me too. I think there should be a limit, maybe 3 times.

My pet peeve is the 20 bttt in a row by the same seller I have seen my ad go to page 2 in 5 minutes. I think the seller should limit him/her self to 5 or 6 a day or at least spread them out over the day would be nice. Some ads could be bunched into one to keep from hogging the page. At the same time I have sold items on page 10 so I guess I am talking courtesy to others here not really complaining. jmo ~~Walts37~~

The rule over on the hamb is 3 days between bumping the ad. There is a couple ads in the v8 section that have been re posted for over a year. You would think after trying to sell something for over a year you would get the hint its either over priced or worthless junk

It ain't a big deal unless your mind lets it become one. Lot's more in this ol' world to get upset about than "BTTT" on an antique car hobby site.....

I thought there was a sort of restriction on that. Many other forums I'm on have a rule about it. I usually don't put BTTT in my for sale ads, either I post up more information regarding the stuff I'm selling or just lower the price. I'm sure even if my stuff hits page 5 people will still look at the stuff. I know I'm not finished with the classifieds after only seeing page 1.

I see that you can delete Bttt and bump posts but is there a way to delete the original thread when the item sells?

You Can NOT Delete the Original Thread (post), but you can Delete any other posts you made
You can go to your original thread and erase part or all of your original text, or mark it as Sold.

You can't delete it yourself, but I'm certain you could "Report" it and ask the moderator to do it for you. Just tell them that you sold the stuff or whatever.

Yes Mike - there is a limit on posts - complaints - one per year and you just used yours. back at you.

Look, plain and simple - when a guy posts an ad for something, as a courteousy - wait 3 days to bump (BTTT) your ad back to the top so other sellers ads have time at the top of the page. That's just courteousy to fellow Ford Barn members.

If someone bumps it before 3 days of BTTT - just report it ( little icon lower left corner of the page) instead of posting a complaint about it.

If you've looked at the ad once and you aren't interested in buying it, I'm not sure why it would matter how many times he posted it if the seller is following the rules.

Don't sweat it and let it ruin your day fellas.
