Exclamation I Missed Hershey!!!

I was in the woods around my home about 7 days ago when I came upon these Dutch elves playing nine pins and drinking ale. They gave me some ale to drink and that's all I can remember. I just woke up this morning and realized that Hershey is over and I missed it.....

You missed one of the better ones in recent times.Lots of Model A partys to be had and many quite rare. Having said that it is not Hershey of old. Time for changes to be made. In the past there was very little competition but now Hershey is no longer the be all and end all. It costs a lot of money to attend for the entire show and pay travel, food, lodging, table fees and taxes. I think the golden goose is slowly dieing ! Wayne

I'm not sure you could travel a distance to anyplace these days and not have an investment in gas food and lodging. If Heshey ain't what it was, not much else is either. I'm about ready to bag Fall Carlisle-nothing different I'd not find at Herhsey plus $20 t park and get in. Friends who are traveling Venders said Fall Charlotte was down, too.

You could blame sales tax (buyers would pay it if venders charged it), or the government (but unemployment is down) or gasoline (but, it's down, too) or the internet (maybe, but I am still paying shipping and taxes if I order from there). I think it's just a change in the way we live today. On the other hand, I think the antique car segment is dong even worse a job than the hotrod segment in interesting younger folks in their hobby. The bottom line for a lot of us is that we need to get our mortgages paid down and our kids through college before we can really have time and money freed up for cars. By then, we're in our fifties and we want the cars we couldn't have when we were younger.
