Default other than ford green

this low cost green enamel i plan to paint my motor is a baked on enamel once the motor gets hot enough, right?
now if i have anything i choose not to paint ford green and wish to antique, say using a blackening system (phosphoric based) what would be recommended for clear as a protection for that finish, is a clear enamel what i should look for ?
