Default Carpet mat repair

The rubber mat portion of my front carpet is flaking and peeling off. Other than that the carpet is in great shape.

Any ideas on a repair other than replacing the entire front carpet?

You could remove the rest of the heel pad, buy another heal pad and sew it in place.

Why not try several coats of the liquid rubber like DaWizard did above on his roof and call yours "Poor Man's Carpet".

The poor man fixes are just that! Made for people that can't afford to do it right. Do it right and forget about it. Wayne[/B]

The heel pad area is the same as the running board material. I removed the original section and cut a new piece to the original size. Then bought Velcro tape, tapped the rug and heel pad put the pieces together. It been over two years and it has never moved.

My thanks for the tips. I hadn't realized that this was the same material as the running boards. I like Frank's idea so I think that will be my best bet.

I appreciate the suggestions!
